While he has headlined numerous films across languages during the past decade, longform storytelling is not new territory for him. Long before he became one of Tamil cinema’s most recognisable performers, he played the character Bharani in the Sun TV serial Penn in 2006.However, Kaattaan marks his first lead role in a Tamil streaming series at a time when the digital space is thriving with complex narratives and ambitious craftsmanship. With Manikandan at the helm, known for his grounded filmmaking and soulful writing, the pairing promises something rooted yet unpredictable. Manikandan’s ability to extract emotional truth from ordinary lives and Sethupathi’s instinct for characters who straddle moral greys make this collaboration one of the most exciting ones on the horizon.          The world of Kaattaan and what lies ahead     Although the makers have not shared character details or plot specifics, what is known so far hints at a world shaped by folklore, crime, and shifting identities. 当霹雳舞在2018年青奥会上亮相时，国际奥委会主席巴赫原本只打算拿出15分钟考察赛事，不过，年轻舞者的动作张力、现场音乐的节奏、观看人群的热烈欢呼让他被深深吸引，最终看完整场比赛。在国际奥委会提倡奥运年轻化的背景下，霹雳舞在2020年成为2024年巴黎奥运会正式比赛项目。届时，霹雳舞将设置男子组和女子组，各16名选手，参赛队员须在2008年12月31日前出生。在男女各16个席位中，包括1个主办国配额和两张外卡，其余13个名额将通过一系列资格赛产生，每个国家/地区奥委会最多两人入选。在2021年霹雳舞世锦赛上，美国和日本选手分获男女组冠军。
